Dead Hindustani

No photos

Back in February, together with Betsy, I spent some weeks in Suriname. Betsy had lived in Suriname for ten years but hadn’t been back for the last ten years. We had a lot of fun.

Many Hindustani live in Suriname and most still cremate their dead in the open. When we visited this place (the end of the road ‘Weg naar zee’), we met a Dutch guy, Ron, who also had stopped by the cremation area out of curiosity.
Now, some of the pictures he took back then were being exhibited in the Amsterdam public library. So we went over to see the pics and had dinner and some drinks with Ron and a friend of his, Yvonne.
