12 Jun 2004 | Panorama of lake Kariba in Zimbabwe
After toying with the idea for ages, this view of lake Kariba was so breathtaking, I just had to make a panorama picture out of it . So that's how this one became my very first real panorama picture.
The lucky bastard who wakes up to this view every day is a friend of a friend who lives on the edge of Kariba town. The guy's job is to regularly inspect the Kariba dam wall and make sure it won't crumble in the near future.

Pennywise
After obtaining an M. Sc in maths, Babak Fakhamzadeh started with an office job at a major blue chip company but soon realised he'd do better on his own. Babak is a traveling web guru with a penchant for doing good and a love for visual and experimental art. Together with Eduardo Cachucho, he won the World Summit Award in the m-Tourism and Culture category in 2012 for Dérive app. With Ismail Farouk, he won the Highway Africa new media award in 2007 for Soweto Uprisings . com.
